Strategic Financial Solutions is looking for a service-first, detail-orientated Benefits Specialist to join the team! You will play an essential role in supporting the growing and evolving administrative and operational needs of the business. The Benefits Specialist reports to our Chief People Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Support and improve the benefit administrative process for our expanding population
  • Help to bring resolution to benefits matters in a timely manner and ensure all employees feel well supported.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of personnel database, including data entry into the HRIS system.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of company leave requests including FMLA, DBL, Parental leaves and PFL.
  • Effectively educate each new hire class on the company’s benefit offerings and ensure a smooth enrollment experience
  • Prepare, audit, and ensure payment of all benefit vendor invoices.
  • Manage terminations as it relates to benefits and ensure timely and accurate COBRA administration
  • Assist in compliance related matters with external vendors including but not limited to 5500, ACA filings, and audits.
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process and ensure all employees questions are answered and enrollments are processed timely and accurately
  • Gather employee feedback on benefit programs and proactively assist with seeking out new benefit options for employees as needed.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and administration of benefit communication and educational initiatives.
  • Create and update plan documentation and establish best practices for benefits delivery.
  • Assist payroll with any benefit related deduction inquiries
  • Perform other Benefits/HR ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in Benefits Administration
  • Experience with ADP Workforce strongly preferred.
  • Leave of Absence experience (FMLA, DBL, PFL) required
  • General knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, etc.
  • High personal integrity with a demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality
  • Excellent Excel skills (V-lookups and pivot tables a must)
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with other teams, internal and external.
  • Passionate about creating the best possible employee experience
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Technical proficiency with/or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS.
