    Strategic Financial Solutions is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, consumer financial services firm that seeks an Underwriter to join the Underwriting team in its Lending Divisions, Peerform Inc. and Versara Lending.  We provide a broad range of unsecured personal installment loans to borrowers.  This position provides you with a challenging opportunity to execute and learn, and above all, be rewarded for success.

    Job description

    Underwriting Associate will perform all due diligence procedures on credit applicants prior to loan issuance.  This includes but is not limited to: verifying the borrower’s identity and income, analyzing the borrower’s financial documents, and ensuring that all aspects of the application are in alignment with Versara and Peerform’s credit policies.  This position also involves contacting clients to request for additional information by phone or by email on an ad-hoc basis.


    • Must have some familiarity with consumer lending products and services
    • At least 1-2 years’ experience in an underwriting role within the financial services industry
    • Understand the need for consistency and accuracy required in a federally-regulated institution through prior financial services experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Must be able to work with confidential information  
    • Must be able to work both as part of a cohesive team and independently within set guidelines
    • Ability to work under pressure and have a sense of urgency to accomplish tasks at hand
    • Professional, proactive and solution-oriented 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • experience is a plus
    • Experience in navigating web-based applications



    Bachelors Degree required


    Compensation commensurate with experience, up to 50K
