We are looking for an entrepreneurial Social Media Specialist who can create a strong brand presence for a portfolio of brands across various social media platforms including internal, consumer, and professional platforms such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed.  Reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing, the Social Media Specialist will be responsible for creating and distributing content that is designed to engage users and create a vibrant presence for our brands.  The successful candidate will be required to collect and review social media data to develop more effective campaigns.  In addition the Social Media Specialist will be responsible for writing and distributing press releases across various PR distribution channels. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with all business units to create and execute social media campaigns, including the design and copy, that help achieve corporate goals
  • Create content calendar across all social platforms to ensure a continuous supply of relevant content
  • Monitor the social media accounts of all the brands in the company portfolio
  • Create reporting framework that outlines the performance of social activities and leverage that to more effectively market through social media platforms
  • Set measurable goals and report on progress
  • Continuously benchmark competitor social activity
  • Remain current with emerging social platforms and recommend those with benefit to the company
  • Help maintain a positive online reputation management by monitoring all social media channels for client comments and escalate to the proper business unit when appropriate
  • Conceive of, write, and distribute press releases through public relation distribution channels

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year as a Social Media Specialist or Manager
  • Strong understanding of the current social media landscape
  • Strategic thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life
  • Proficiency with Hootsuite required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with video platforms used to create animated social content
  • Experience in successfully managing strategic social marketing projects
  • Highly organized self-starter who can work efficiently on a small team
  • BS or BA in English, Marketing, Business, or Art

Compensation: Up to 45K
